Description:
This is a geoid model for Philippines computed by the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) with the technical assistance of the National Space Institute of the Denmark Technical University (DTU-Space). The geoid covers the region 4-22°N, 112-128°E, and has a resolution of 0.025°. It is an update of the previous PGM2014 model, using reprocessed and densified land gravity observations (from 1261 to 2214 stations) together with the same airborne and satellite gravity data. The same procedure of PGM2014 was used in the computation of the PGM2016 model. The resulting gravimetric model was fitted to 101 out of the 190 ITRF2005 GNSS/levelling benchmarks, after cleaning up for outliers. The PGM2016 model has an estimated accuracy of 2.2 cm, showing differences with PGM2014 as big as 30 cm in most parts of the country.
